Last month, Alison (my office manager), Melissa (my perioperative nurse and wife), Lyuda (my surgical assistant) and I welcomed Lindsey as our new receptionist. Lindsey came to us after working as an administrative assistant for Theatreworks, a nonprofit organization in New York that provides free theatre to children across the country who would normally never be able to see theatre. Lindsey has already shown amazing initiative in her new job, has shown an amazing ability to learn quickly and loves helping to take care of our patients. Welcome, Lindsey!
In June, I had a fantastic time as a faculty member of a multidisciplinary course on Facial Plastic Surgery in Las Vegas. The course brings out the best in Facial Plastic Surgery from all the specialties involved: Facial Plastic Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons, Dermatologists, and Oculoplastic Surgeons all get together and share their surgical techniques and philosophies. The Bellagio was the perfect venue for this refreshing course where rivalry is put aside and everyone shares their secrets! After the meeting, where I gave talks on practice management and rhinoplasty techniques, the course director asked me to help to organize next year’s meeting. I, of course, enthusiastically agreed. I strongly believe that the only way that we will further our fields is to work together, regardless of background.
