Case 1: Chin Implant
This young woman wanted a stronger jaw line. Her lower face did not match her stonger upper face with its higher cheek bones. Although her nose could have also been improved with rhinoplasty, she was focused on improving the disproportion between her upper and lower face. She and Dr. Constantinides decided that a chin implant was the right choice. After her chin implant surgery, not only does her jaw line look better, but her face is better proportioned. Now her lower face matches her upper face, stronger but still feminine. Notice that if a larger implant had been used, her jaw line might have overpowered her feminine features and created too strong a profile. Also notice that the implant was positioned so that it did not lengthen her chin in a downward direction, creating a pleasing shorter vertical length to the lower third of her face.
