Primary Functional & Cosmetic Rhinoplasty Case 9: Rhinoplasty

Male rhinoplasty requires balancing making a nose smaller and less prominent while retaining strong masculine characteristics. Rotation, or turning the tip up, is often feminizing and is the last thing most men want. However, deprojecting the tip, or making it less prominent, will also usually CAUSE upwards rotation. This is the perfect example of how deprojection required Dr. Constantinides to focus on making sure that rotation would not result from this functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty. The nose was not only straightened and the tip refined and deprojected, but the masculine characteristics were maintained. The septum, among the most deviated that Dr. Constantinides had seen in his career, also was straightened beautifully. The patient was able to breathe for the first time through his nose, a life-changing transformation.
