Primary Rhinoplasty 23: Rhinoplasty
20 year old woman had nasal septoplasty and endoscopic sinus surgery at age 16 because of severe bilateral nasal obstruction. The nasal septal and sinus surgery did not improve her breathing at all. She now wishes not only to breathe better but also to look better through rhinoplasty. Dr. Constantinides' evaluation revealed a severely deviated septum in all 3 planes. The dorsal septum was severely deviated to the left. The septal deviation resulted in a 90% obstruction of her nasal airway. Dr. Constantinides performed revision septoplasty and primary rhinoplasty. During the procedure PDS Flexible Plate was used to strengthen the extensive septal repair. Postoperatively the patient breathed better and had a straight, attractive, feminine nose that enhanced her eyes and smile.
