DR. MINAS CONSTANTINIDES: Rhinoplasty is among the most exciting surgeries that I do. Rhinoplasty, like no other surgery in the age group of 20’s to 40’s, can change the face in a way that is hard to pick up.

Ideally, rhinoplasty will improve a feature that’s out of proportion, the nose. And so the whole face looks better, and particularly, the eyes look a lot better. During our consultation, I always like to find out from my patients what new opportunities they see for themselves after surgery.

With rhinoplasty in particular, most patients really just don’t want to have to wake up every morning and see that nose that’s with a big bump or out of proportion to their face. And so rhinoplasty can improve the nose in a subtle way that should never be done looking, but in fact, should make the whole face look better.

Most patients after they have rhinoplasty go back to their lives and people don’t really know what they've done. They see that there’s a difference, but they don’t see that they've had rhinoplasty because the rhinoplasty, what it does is take a feature and just make it more proportionate for patients’ faces.

And so there’s nothing that stands out about the nose. It doesn't look done. It doesn't look funny. It just looks like it’s always supposed to have looked on that face. Rhinoplasty gives patients new strength and new self confidence by taking a feature that they think about all the time, in pictures, when they meet someone new, and not having to think about it anymore.

This supports that patient’s other strengths and gives them new, newly found self confidence that—in a way that really nothing else can.
