NOW PLAYING: Forehead Lift

DR. MINAS CONSTANTINIDES: Forehead lifting is typically done endoscopically. However, not all patients are candidates for endoscopic forehead lifting. So even though it’s nice to have minimal incision forehead lifting, if a woman has a high hairline, an endoscopic lift will make it higher.

If a man has a receding hairline, an endoscopic lift might make it higher and more apparent. And sometimes women and men both want to lower their hairline because their foreheads are too high, while at the same time raising their brows.

So in these cases, we do more traditional open forehead lifting. With open forehead lifting, we make an incision either up high behind the hairline or, more typically, for a long forehead patient, we'll make the incision at or just behind the hairline.

Endoscopic forehead lifting is still a great option in most patients. But when it’s not an option, these scars heal very, very well, really imperceptibly. But it takes a few months for the scars to look great.
